Escott Barramundi Lodge is 18km west of
Burketown in outback Queensland. The turn-off to Escott is approximately
3km from Burketown, off road to Gregory Downs. The road takes you through
Escott Cattle Station and then into Escott Lodge.
Escott Lodge is situated on the banks of the Nicholson
River, and is part of the famous Escott Station (Est. 1864) which covers
some 256,000 hectares (700,000 acres) and runs 9000 head of cattle.
Accommodation is in a very pleasant parkland setting,
surrounded by mango trees and coconut palms.
Campers and caravans are welcome in the caravan
park where powered and unpowered camping sites are available. The area
is famous for its Barramundi Fishing, and is a favourite for bird watchers
and wildlife enthusiasts.
