Born in Bari, Italy, the artist graduated from Florence Academy of Fine Arts. He exhibited in France, Italy, Germany, United States and, following his first successful exhibition in Australia in 1976, he decided to live in Sydney. In 1977 he became an Australian citizen.His works have often been associated with major prizes for Exhibitions at the Art Gallery of NSW, and he has shown with several of the more prominent commercial Sydney art galleries.
His work is represented in many corporate and private collections, both Australian and international.
This site presents a broad cross-section of the painter's works including the current series of Australian desert paintings and Sydney Harbour views, nudes both recent and retrospective, and many of his glorious still lives.
Not least is a glimpse of Pio Carlone’s cookbook “Poor Food” which contains rare and delightful recipes and illustrations equally so.
