Australian
Motorcycle Adventures has a free-call telephone service for it’s
customers in case they have problems during their travels in Australia.
When a client encounters
problems they only have to call and AMA will provide appropriate assistance
or advice.
If the customer can’t speak
English there is a Government Telephone Interpreter Service.
TELEPHONE INTERPRETER SERVICE
The Australian Government
provides a Telephone Interpreter Service free of charge in emergencies
or low cost if not an emergency.
To use the service follow
these steps ….
1. Dial 13 1450
- if using public telephone insert 40 cents
2. When operator answers
say in English “Japanese please”
Operator will then
connect you to a Japanese interpreter.
3. Tell the operator that
you want to speak with AMA staff in Brisbane, telephone number 1800 811
876. The interpreter is not permitted to make long distance calls so tell
her that AMA has a free-call telephone number and an account with the Telephone
Interpreter Service. The interpreters are part time and sometimes amateurs
so you may have to explain these details carefully.
4. The interpreter will
then call AMA and you can have a 3-way conversation with AMA staff.
